Life Time

Sometimes it is important that we are reminded that we are not, in fact, the greatest power on this earth, and that we should remain humble and thankful for life. Time continues to tick, no matter how hard we would like it to stop or rewind, it will propel you forward and one day you wake up and stagger to remember where the last ten years went.

Eighteen seems quite old to me, living right now. I feel like I am an adult, ready to progress onto the next steps that life has to offer. I've been officially placed on that conveyor that makes stops at career, marriage, children, and then death, just after my retirement. To reminisce about my last ten years is incredible. So much has changed - I am at least a foot taller, a few stone heavier, have legally finished my scholastic career, have a driving license, and in the next six months I will be moving out. The girl I was back then, even a few years ago, is someone I find it hard to recognise.

The next ten years are also going to be colossal, and it is the very fact that so much changes and so quickly in these years that 30 seems so much older than 20. After 30, everything begins to slow down a little, giving you a break to recover.

They say that time accelerates with every blow of that birthday candle. Let's hurry up and make living worthwhile.

It seems as though it takes forever to hit 21, but after that time just flies by.
